When I spoke to the local dealer about it, they offered to do the work for around £1100 after goodwill. Never had it done as it seems happy running on super unleaded.
Be interested to see how you get on with the local dealer...

I'm considering buying a boroscope and doing the inspection work, and the decokeing myself. A friend has offered to remove the head if that's the case.

Did you get anywhere with the decoking on your car Nik?

I'm thinking about it. In going to speak to mini about it again once I get the car in for the recall.

FFS, I haven't had a recall letter but am sure mine needs it. Maybe we should go in at the same time, pretend we don't know each other, and cause havoc

Too right, when I called last they said they would not look at it until I had a letter.

Its no skin off their nose to do it so I wonder why they are being annoying ? With your reg/chassis no they can check their system to see if you need it or not regardless of whether you have a letter come through or not....
