It should do. Cars rattle like a bag of spanners when the oil is low.

Win for me on the cheap solution

Glad it's sorted and you're running smoothly again. It's shocking that most cars no longer have an oil warning light that comes on until your at a critical stage

You were very, very lucky there Sharron, the next stage would have been a loud bang followed by lots of blue smoke and then the oil warning light!

Are you getting any oil spots on the garage floor or do you see blue smoke coming from the exhaust?

That is a good to hear it was due to lack of oil then the costly timing chain tensioner.

Some of the R56s seem to use a fair bit of oil, I know mine does!

No oil spots on garage floor, or blue smoke.....I feel like the dip stick!!!
