Default '95 or '97?

Ever since picking my Cooper S up, I've been using 97 Ron fuel in her. Today (mainly due to not being able to find any '97), I filled up with '95, and felt a slight drop in performance.

Anyone any idea if the car is mapped for '97 or '95 fuel?

Non N/A cars prefer higher octane fuels. This has been proven on back to back tests using BP Ultimate, Shell V-Power & Tesco 99, I certainly notice a difference!. It makes absolutely no difference to N/A cars.

The car is set to run on 95-RON but anything more than that, if you can afford it, is well worth it as you gain a little extra Ooomph and you go just that lil'bit further too.

As standard it runs fine on 95 but the higher the octane the better the performance. Having done a few performance mods I do find mine runs best on 97-99 and on the occasions I have to put anything less in it will run a little rough as Sef mentioned.
