Default this may sound like a stupid question but ...

... i have a button on my stereo with a picture of a phone on it. However in my stereo manual there is no label to this button although it is clearly shown on the diagram. I also can't find anything about it in the car manual. It seems strange to me that it's not labelled in the stereo manual as a bluetooth kit, optional extra etc.

I have a parrot kit from my old car but don't want to fit it to just find I am doing something wrong and had bluetooth through the stereo all along.

i think and dont quote me as i dont have an R56 but i think its a mute button or answer button for the phone kit that comes with it if you order one .........i think

thanks, see that is what i was thinking, bluetooth optional extra but it's just all very odd that there is nothing in the manual or stereo handbook thing

It's also used if your car has bluetooth to answer calls on the mobile

As silly as it sounds how do i know if the car has got bluetooth kit though. I have always had a parrot kit but as I fitted it it came with instructions lol. Got no instructions that i can find on how to connect to the car it if i have it lol.

On the controls for the stereo there is a menu button and bt is one of the sub menus in there I think
But don't hold me to that lol

hmmm i have BC in there and something else but not a BT, maybe I just dont have it. Will go speak to BMW see what they say lol
