Nothing wrong with what you want to do at all... The JCW bodykit looks superb and changes the look completely. Coloured coding it also makes it really stand out... Nik has done just that... From what I have read on the JCW upgrade, the people that have had it are pleased that they did... Additional power and torque are always welcome...
It really depends on what you want first. Enhanced looks or more power.

Your right I need to choose either or, and I'm going to go for power over looks, however a couple of cosmetic things will still be done. Was thinking about JCW upgrade, spot lights (not sure about the spots though) and new MINI alloys. I've had a look around and the two sets I like at the moment are the R98 web spoke composite & R99 double spoke, both standard finish. I've only been looking on the MINI site so not sure if there are any others out there to choose from?

The web spokes are lovely wheels but some have found them to corrode over time... If you are looking for Mini wheels, take a look on ebay as some cheaper sets appear on there... Mini2 Classifieds is also a good place to look... The wheels will cost you a fortune if you go direct to Mini. Have to say that I'm not a fan of spots... If I had them I'm sure they'd just get damaged by road debris... The power/looks debate is one we all go through... Are you hapy with the power you have at the moment? If so, I'd say go for the bodykit... If not go for power... When I first started modding, I went for the bodykit first and then went for the power tweeks...

As Joe says.... if you are happy with the current performance of your MCS then get the cosmetic touches done first but if you want abit more ummph then defo go for the JCW upgrade mate.
Performance was what I was going to do first along with colour coding the arches, bumpers, etc but then was lucky enough to find a JCW for sale that had already been colour coded.

Thanks guys, think I'm swaying more towards the JCW upgrade now. I will get some prices and options open along the way, I might stumble across some bargains

Right, in preparation for the New MINI Day in June, I'm getting the JCW body kit (and possibly wheels fitted too). Just wanted to ask your opinion on something.
I have seen on some JCW MINI's, they have the carbon fiber rear splitter fitted, which I think looks good. When I get the kit fitted I was thinking of getting my rear splitter painted black (cheap way of getting the look I know). Does anyone have this on their MINI on here and what do you think to the idea? Opinions welcome. Thanks,

I like that idea... I did the same on my r53. I prefer black to CF...

Hi Andy some good ideas, I used to have carbon fibre difuser on mine they're a lot of money £320 I think, what about covering standard one with 3m carbon fibre vinyl as a cheaper alternative? There are some pics of my car as it was before I removed the JCW aerokit in link below, I still have the front bumper though if you're interested and my wheels will be going too. The JCW performance kit is a great addition, look forward to seeing the changes
