Default Meet The MCUK Team

Hello, and welcome to MCUK.

We would really appreciate you taking the time to read this introduction and familiarise yourself with the team. MCUK was set up by six MINI enthusiasts with friendship, chit-chat, shows and MINIs in mind! These six members form the committee, in which all the club decisions are discussed and made. This ensures that all decisions are balanced, helping to keep the club impartial.

Introductions from the committee members:

Sef (Joe)
I'm the committee chairman and administrator. Currently I own a Cooper S in Hyper Blue. I head up the club committee, and bring a great wealth of IT knowledge as well as being a regular France traveller - great use for our European trips.

One Seven (John)
I'm the committee vice chairman, a true petrol head and drive a dark silver Clubman Cooper. An avid biker and self-confessed Harley nut, I've many years of club experience in the bike and car scene and I hope that I help to keep things running smoothly. I usually plan and lead the MCUK Summer Trips so I'm pretty good with maps and if all that fails I also know how to use a Sat Nav device!

Emily
I am the club treasurer responsible for managing the club finances and any associated expenditure. I currently own a '06, Black-Eye Purple MINI Cooper S which sports as much carbon fibre as I can afford! Previous to this I owned an '02, Chili Red MINI Cooper.

Mr Cooper (Chris)
Chris is our Club Secretary, responsible for club memberships/renewals, he has a marketing/advertising back ground and often helps out with the clubs promotion. He currently owns an '05 Mini Cooper S and is probably the least modified car on the club scene, but its clean, very clean. Future mods are assured - we just don't know when.

Nik
I have owned two MINIs to date, a 2002 ONE and now own a distinctive modified R56 Cooper S. As well as committee member duties, I keep the website up and running and am responsible for the site's performance in the search engines to bring the club to a wider audience. As a Norfolk lad you will probably find me trawling the A11 on the way to the next MCUK meet!

Ayde_bury (Ayde)
I'm the newbie to the committee (taking over from Foz), and as passionate about MINIs as the rest of the team. I'm now on my third MINI after having a R53 One D, Copper S convertible, and now my second R56 S. To be honest I couldn't really think of changing to anything else at the moment, there's far too much fun to be had out on the open road. You'll find that I'm your one stop shop for the news and gossip on MINIs - feel free to chip in and comment on any of the items.

Retired committee member:

Fozthedevil (Dan)
Now an ex-MINI owner, Dan decided to retire from the team in May 2009 and follow his passion for photography. You will still find his posts in some of the forums threads.

All members of the moderation team and committee are responsible for looking after the club, helping to arrange meets, club stands and discounts from our sponsors.

We'd love to hear any suggestions you have to help make the club more enjoyable for everyone, please PM or email a committee member and we'll let you know what we think.

Remember, it's your club too.
