Default Mini Noob checking in!

Hello!

I'm based up in Edinburgh and pick up my first Mini this Friday!

I've just bought an 08 plate Cooper D in BRG (50k miles) and although neither my wife or I have yet driven a Mini, we've been in them loads and needed a second car so took the plunge on a wee mini adventure.

I'm getting the train down to Birmingham early Friday and will drive it back up the road. (Bought through my staff car scheme so a trusted sale).

Looking forward to the (long) drive, but does anyone have any advice / anything I should check the car over for?

Cheers!
Glorious.

Hi and welcome to MCUK.

A good and frugal choice with the Cooper D, we've a member Tommo that also drives one of these. As far as I know, there are no specific problems with the D that should be looked at when buying second hand. All the obvious with any car check for engine fluid leaks, dash lights etc etc.

Enjoy your MINI adventure, and I'm sure you'll have a great drive home.

Don't forget that a MINI has a 3 year warranty, so you may be able to get any problems sorted out with your local dealership if it has any of this remaining.

Hi there and welcome to the forum, you could also check if the previous owner took out any form of TLC agreement as you may have services that are still covered. From what Tommo says you won't be on first name terms at your local filling station as you won't be going in there very often!
