a cars paint will not fade if looked after anyway, for a cars paint to fade you have to leave it unmanaged for a long period of time anyway so if your an avid mini enthusiast i am sure you would take good care and clean your car periodically anyway
Mine hasn't faded, it does live under a cover though and has a ton of wax on it.

Do they really only do metallic colours - I thought they still did normal colours. Also thought they had a clear coat on them - mine does (I think).

R56 had Chilli Red, Oxygen Blue, Mellow Yellow and Pepper White as non-metallic options, all have a clearcoat. Never seen a faded Chilli Red either - even on a Y plate.

No, MINI has always had a selection of non-metallic colours on the pallet, then charge around £250 premium for the metallic ones.

Chilli Red has never been metallic or had fading issues - along with all the other MINI colours.

Default Update

Hi Everyone

Just to give you a update of the purchase of my first mini. Well I picked it up last Friday from Cherished Mini in Derby. I have had the roof down all weekend, it's fantastic!!!! I have just put her away now in the garage but keep going in to have another look!

I will post some pictures soon when I find out how to do it.

Sam

Welcome Sam,

Red is a good colour choice for any Mini, cabriolet or hard top.I dont know how well a One convertible goes,I had a hard top One as a courtesey car and found it good but you had to go through the gears going uphill because it lacked a bit of power.
