Default Now a mini owner

Hi all, first post here, I picked up my new Minin Cooper S Clubman yesterday, very impressed, it replaces a BMW 120d that has just gone back, it was a company car, but happy to be out of the company car scheme now and buy what I actually want. Looking forward to driving the car properly once it gets a few miles on the clock and I can see how it really goes, just hope the Mountain Bikes go in the back. We also have an Elise, so unfortunately the Mini will now sit in the garage for a few days as we are off to the Goodwood revival this weekend and as the weather looks good, we'll take the little car with removable roof.

Hopefully stick some pics on here in the not too distant future, and I'm sure I'll have some dumb Mini questions very soon, just need to get out drive him right now.

Have fun

Giles

Hi Giles, welcome to MCUK. Have fun at Goodwood - have you been before? You'll love it, especially as there are going to be loads and loads of Minis there this year. Can't wait to see the pics!

Hi Giles, welcome to MINI ownership and MCUK! You'll have to post up some pictures of the new MINI (also sneak in one of the Elise as I am a HUGE fan).

Thanks for the friendly welcome, lovely sunny day, so I had to have a wee drive at lunch time, the Mini really is great to drive.

I'll have to get some pics taken and uploaded.

Looking forward to Goodwood, it will be the fourth time we've been, just love the whole weekend there, and we stay down south next week aswell to visit friends, and have a few south downs walks.

Edited to say the Lotus Avatar will go as soon as I get some pics of the Mini.

Had a great time at the Goodwood Revival, the Mini races were very impressive, and very competative. Still not enough miles on our new mini to start driving it properly yet, but I'm expecting to add about 800miles this weekend, so that should help, very annoying right now as it is just starting to pull nicely when I have to change up.

A quick question, not sure if anyone can help, and apologies if it's been covered too many times before, does the Cooper S run any better on the higher Octane Fuel, I read that it has a knock sensor, so I would expect it to adjust, but can you notice the difference, obvioulsy not much point while I'm keeping below 4000 revs.

Cheers
