Default 16(ish) Hours later....

OK Guys, said in my introductory thread that I'd post up some more pics of my Cooper S once I had given it a thorough detail to sort out a few bits that I wasn't happy about, namely; Wheels, Engine, Paint, Interior....etc - you get the idea!

Process:

Interior:

Started by cleaning the headliner with Autosmart (AS) G101 and an AutoGlym (AG) Hand Microfibre pad, rinsed with a clean MF, then brushed with an upholstery brush to get the fibres in the headliner material to all face the same way.

Moved onto the seats, used the same AG Hand 'pad, and G101 - Pretty much the same process as the headliner. Did the same for the carpet but sprayed the G101 directly onto the carpet and used the upholstery brush in lieu of the AG 'pad.

Leather bits treated with Mer leather cleaner, mats cleaned with G101 and dressed with AS High Style. Pedals cleaned with Meguiars Last Touch and buffed. Dash plastics cleaned with G101 and then dressed with Last Touch.

Lastly on the interior, AS Cherry Blast sprayed into carpet.

Exterior:

Started with the wheels - G101 on the faces, Megs' Wheel Brightener (10:1) on the backs using a Megs brush - Stubborn bits i.e. wheel weight glue and tar spots (and believe me, there was a ton) soaked with AS Tardis and removed with a MF. Wheels then re-cleaned to get rid of any Tardis still hanging around.

Next up, engine. Liberally covered in G101, not too dirty so no need to degrease anything apart from the bonnet catches, which had baked-on grease on them, so needed some Tardis to cleanup. Nooks and crannies brushed, and then engine rinsed with a hose. AS High Style then sprayed on liberally and engine allowed to dry. High Style then buffed to a nice sheen.

Bodywork - Loose bits washed off with the pressure washer. Then a pre soak in AG Bodywork conditoner using the pressure washers detergent tank. This was then washed off. Whilst drying, bodywork was clayed using Sonus Mild (Green) and as added lubrication, Last Touch was used. This was then dried using a waffle weave drying towel.

Paint was then polished using Sonus SFX (1+2) Pads, and Menzerna polishes. Starting off with Intense Polish (Areas that were particularly bad got Power Gloss (S 100), then Intense'. All paintwork finished using Final Finish (PO85RD). Then went round the car with some AG Super Resin Polish, using this as a sealant before rinsing the car to get rid of any polish residues etc. To top off used some Colinite 476S x 2.

Last two things - Glass done with Stoners Invisible, and tyres dressed using Meguiars Endurance - Also used this on the plastic trim pieces.

Chris, I reckon that if you took the number plates off your car and El_corpo did the same, you two would struggle to figure out who's was who's! Mega mega clean and shiney both of them. Good job!
