When Foz and Sef first started on the de-chroming mission years ago I was well into it, Joey mod, beltline, door handles etc etc. I was too much of a student to spend the cash on doing it to Norman or Wilma. Now everyone's doing it. Mini Torque is pretty much de-chrome anonymous and right now the chrome adds something to the overall car.
I'm going to upgrade to Cooper S bumpers eventually, so that will lose a lot of the chrome (and also bring the bumpers closer to the ground.. eek!). Also I think I'd colour code the headlight rings and Fly Eye the front and rear lights. Joey mod looks shit on pre-facelift lights I think and I've seen a Mini with Fly Eye front lights and it looks good. Doing the rears in red Fly Eye will also get rid of chrome on rear lights.
Marc's got a front bumper in his garage that he keeps threatening to smoothen a la ModNMini's yellow car and sell to me so whenever he actually goes through with his threat I'll have it painted and fitted.
