Default Run Flat Repairs

Has any one used a local tyre repair place who has successfully repaired a runflat tyre???

Im desperate here as going on Hols tomorow morning and incorporating the South Downs MINI run into it too and the chances of gettin a new Bridgestone 18" runflatt are gonna be pretty slim

A lot of companies will refuse to repair a punctured run flat tyre as the tyre basically starts to deteriorate when punctured, although Michelin will allow one repair on their ZP run flats.

You may have to stick a standard 18" tyre on if it's an emergency and a can of tyre weld in the boot - fingers crossed you can find someone with a Bridgestone in stock tomorrow.

Enjoy your run / holiday.

I Had 2 run flats repaired on my old R53 's' back in 2006, i had no trouble with them after repair,
but alot of tyre place don't like the idea of repairing then (for the reasons Ayde mentioned) and cause the run flats can be a biatch to get off and on the rim for not alot of money, they would rather sell you a new tyre.

Providing it's on the centre of the tread it should be okay, I got mine repaired at Easterns garage in Finchingfield, cost me £15 and I have had no problems with it since. I think it all depends on the garage you go to, it may be worth ringing around a couple.

Good luck!

I was surprised as I only think of Finchingfield as 2 Pubs, a tea room, a bridge with a river and ducks!

we had a puncture on sunday on route to MITP,luckily only 20 miles out of Norwich, had to come home get the other mini, had the run flat replaced on Monday £160.00 for one tyre, ouch !!
Did ring round a few garages, the general opinion seemed to be that nobody would repair a run flat, but at £160.00 at least per tyre its not surprising garages want to replace and not repair.
On the silver mini we have taken the run flat tyres of and replaced with normal tyres
