Thumbs down Elms Bedford service

Where do I start... I took the car in because I noticed the silver lower window trims were pitting. When I got to he dealership they had a look and agreed they should have done this. So they agreed to replace them, so the car was booked in then I said I need a car to drive as they would have our car for the whole day. They then told me it will be £15 charge to use there car ??? My I asked well it's because of others that have damaged cars and the insurance doesn't pay out for a long time. Hmmm ok lol first time that's happened with all the new cars I have brought anyway. I ended up having Helen take me to drop off the car. also showed them the locking wheel nut key not fitting right as well.

Right this is where the problems start. When I picked up the car I inspects it to find the trims didn't fit right and were sliding around and the boot one was dented where they were pushing it on. So they had to re-book the car in again. So it was booked in again with the service manager getting involved promising to solve the problem. At this stage they have my locking wheel nuts changed and when putting the
On have scratched my fresh new painted rims with the power gun grr grr! When we were looking at the promised solved problem the trims still didn't fit right and were sliding around mostly the back boot one he agreed it wasn't right! So what now he said we need to investigate this and get back to you? Investigate what? So they have my other wheel which as damage because the brace pinged off and hit the OEM wheel because the key didn't fit right. So today I was looking around the car when the screen was being replaced and found scratches on the paint where they were putting the boot trim on. They are deep ones just under the trim all the way along. So I phoned Elms up and asked to speak to the service manager he was busy and said they will get h to call you back but no call back. So 30 mins ago I phoned again and got though to him. He said we both inspected the trims yes we did but not with the sun shining on then! And the scratches weren't seen as I was to busy looking at my wheels which I pointed out. The manager said I need to bring the car in again (this is the 3rd time now) to look at the so called scratches grr wtf! They don't give a monkeys about service let alone looking after some ones car while working on it.

I have 12 years experience in the motor trade from detailing tech and sales for BMW jaguar landrover Hyundai Honda volvo and never in my experience come across this kind of work then again it was in canada where they proud them selfs in customer service.

I even told him I will take it further with Mini head office and he said please do so wtf that really got my back up but I some how stayed carm. Has anyone else had to take things to Mini head office because of a compliant?

Why oh why don't they: -

1. Do the job properly at the 1st time of asking and

2. Look after the vehicle thats been entrusted to them

How about if you invoiced them £100 for your wasted time each time you have to take it back, perhaps they would buck their ideas up!

They would soon be after you if you scratched there bloody courtesy car, I never have one now after having to argue the toss over a really faint blemish on an alloy wheel on a Hertz Hire Car, I wouldn't mind I had to reject the 1st 2 thay gave me as thery were a heap of crap; mind you that was in Italy!

I have been having similar issues with Coopers Ipswich I wrote a 3 page letter of complaint sent it to the dealer principal but also emailed a copy to Mini UK who replied within 15 mins to tell me they had contacted the dealer principal and the requested him to get in touch and were appalled with the way I had been dealt with with, guess what its been a week and I'm still waiting!!!!! I will be contacting Mini UK again tomorrow

I just spoke to mini uk regarding my boot scratches where they have put the trim on, the scratch on my fresh painted alloy wheel. And the trim problem and the 3 visits to service. Mini uk said they can't do anything about this!

This maybe the last mini we buy if this is the kind of service we are going to receive in the future.

Sounds familiar... MINI UK generally dont give a monkeys - every complaint Ive tried to make with them just results in them saying to contact the service manager then the dealer principal and then saying that there is nothing they can do as its no within their control...

During my recent issues with chelmo MINI UK said that they would contact the dealer principal and get him to call me ASAP - that was ages ago and I still havent heard anything from them... actually thats not true, I got a letter saying that they were glad that I chose to buy a car from them and they hope taht their service would be something that i could share with others, then details of special owners area on website blah blah blah... this letter was actually quite insulting after what had been going on...

Hope you get a satisfactory resolution dude, i feel your pain
