Default Sat NAVS

Hello all, has anyone had or played with either a garmin nuvi or a mio sat nav?

We are looking at a mio m448 uk euro sat nav or a garmin nuvi 1440.

Help needed please.

I've just bought a TomTom XL 2 with Europe maps, not sure how it fairs against the two you've mentioned. I just stuck with TomTom as it's what I am familiar with.

we have the Nuvi one and I have to say it's not great. We do need to update it but it seems to send you on some weird and wonderful journeys. If I were to buy another one I think I'd go for a TomTom now.

Yes we have a Tom Tom now but it's an of 910 series with europe maps but not sure how it will be so was looking to update. We have ruled out the mio one so it's between the garmin and Tom Tom now. Emily do you have to subscribe to the xl thing?

No I don't think so... You might have to pay for new maps and other services. The one pony thing I did find was that the first time I updated it that there was not enough available memory! It meant I had to delete some of the voices but then I wasn't going to use 72 different voices most of which were spoken in another language!
