Default r56 turbo engine in a r53 one ?

hey guys of late ive been playing with the idea of doing a conversion on my one to a bigger engine such as a 1.8 turbo from a audi or vw but didnt know if anyone had any intel/experiance in the idea of the cooper s turbo engine from a r56 into a r53, if its ever been done, as id like to keep it as close to a bmw as i can

The think mini conversion has never been run for long, if at all and hasn't been tested. The r56 engine and associated parts will not fit. Save your cash and go for a turbo conversion. At this time, you will need around 9k though.

I would have thought the R53 engine swap would be a better bet

That will cost you then... You have to remember that some folks have had their Supercharged S's to 280bhp... Many are now north of 250bhp.
