Default Anyone had any issues with the Sytner Coventry Dealership?

Hi All,

I am new to the Mini forum but have owned my lovely Mini Cooper for the last 6.5 years. I am keen to find out if any on here has had any problems with getting their Mini serviced at the above garage?

I recently brought my Mini in for a health check and to get the wheel bearings looked at and had no end of problems with this garage. The first problem related to the amount of time they kept me waiting, over 2 hours for what should have been a 45min check, without any updates as to the progress of my car. Following the health check I agreed for work to be completed on my car and was shown an invoice for the work (changing wheel bearings, an exhaust clip, top up of oil and clearing the rear washer) which was £300 for the work inclusive of labour and £39 for the health check. I thought this was a good price so I agreed for the work to be done. So imagine my surprise when I was presented with a final bill of £1200! The service rep I was dealing with hadn't shown me the full invoice when we were initially discussing the work. If I had seen that final cost I would never have had the work done on my car. Whats even worse is that when I went through the invoice I noticed that they had made a mistake on the invoice and were trying to charge me £200 for clearing my rear washer. I complained to the service manager about all of the above but he was unable to come up with a reasonable solution other than to refund the £200.

I have complained to Mini UK and they have apologised for the poor level of service but have told me they can do no more as it is an independant dealership. As of yet the dealership has not been in touch (2 weeks later) so I am contacting the dealership principal today, but wanted to know if anyone else had any similar issues or problems with this garage? If so did you manage to come to some resolution with the garage?

Sorry to rant in my first post on here, but I have been to several other Mini dealerships over the years have always received great service.

Thanks

Hi AMN_123,

I've not had any experience of this branch of Sytner's and I'm not sure that anyone else will have as we are mainly a South East Based club, however we have forum members from all over; so you never know.

Sorry to hear about the poor service you have received; my local Sytner's in Chigwell have always been 1st Class.

Contacting the dealership principal usually gets things moving. Really put up a fight and then call Mini UK again and state that the dealership is damaging Minis good name by its lack of customer respect and the ridiculous amounts it charges for work to be carried out. You should then start to see some action... Just keep bugging them...

Thanks for the advice guys, I have contacted the dealer principal but he is away all week. I'm hoping that something might be done about it when he gets back. Fingers crossed!
