I've seen and been involved in testing CAI's...

Alta with Lid 1-2bhp max
JCW 4bhp max
GTT no benefit
Standard Airbox with performance flat panel filter - max 1bhp
(If you want more power I wouldn't bother with a CAI as the increases are minimal. There are much better and cheaper ways to achieve gains.)
Not too sure about the M7 kit. Seems to work well but don't have any figures for it.
Any open cone will soak up the heat like a sponge and reduce power, so avoid these at all costs...

A chap on MiniTorque has reworked the standard airbox which now out performs the JCW kit and is half the cost. So that will be one to look into.

Just picked up a Alta V2 so Emily if you do decided can I have first dibs on the box top!!

Interesting stuff Was the JCW box with JCW flap and filter? Did you happen to test it deflapped and with itg filter too? I shouldnt imagine there were any (significant) differences but would be interesting to see.... (probably just all about the noise!! )

I've got this from mini automotive. Best on the market IMO. YOu don't get heat soak like all other kits out there an it's got a massive filter inside. Oh and it whines like hell
