Hi Jon, Welcome to MCUK... How about starting a thread in the Newbies section to introduce yourself...

What wheels are you thinking about fitting? Are you going for lowering springs or Coilovers?

Welcome. I reckon that Keano would be a good source to answer your query.

Hi Jon,

I have a Mini One Seven fitted with Factory Sports Suspension and 18"x7.5 Wheels with an Offset of 42, Tyres are 215/35x18 (Standard not Run Flats).

Ride is very hard and the wheels follow tram lines in the road, I've not fitted steering lock limiters and have had no issues with rubbing on full lock, also not had any rubbing issues when passengers are carried.

I WAS running 18" R95's with Eibach (AC Schnitzer) springs. No spacers were fitted and it looked great (IMO). Ive driven 4 up with bags for football with no rubbing issues. I have the factory steering limit and this is annoying when parking...

The ride isnt as good as it could be but as long as you stick to no more than 30mm drop you should be ok (unless you go with coilovers). Your shocks and bushes will wear faster than normal- when changing my wishbone bushes on Friday the old bushes just fell out...

Im now running JCW suspension kit with uprated wishbone bushes and its simply superb!!

I got rid of my springs as the ride became too bad for my daily use - although a broken front spring didnt help with handling!!!!

You should be fine with the springs...

Now thats a different look entirely - perhaps stupidly wide wheels just small diameter....

Generally they fill the arches better... plus mine came with 18" rims!!
