Default Mini Pirate Closing Down

Just read this on MiniAddiction... It's a sad day...

Its with great regret and a very very heavy heart that I have to announce that Mini Pirate Ltd will cease trading at the end of January 2009.

There are many reasons why we have to take this course of action, much to do with the banks NOT helping us when we need it most - we never have a problem in finding customers or work in fact I have too many customers at the moment but we can not continue in the current economic climate.

I wont bore you all with the details though.

I would just like to say on the record a big thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone of you (even if you weren't a customer) for your loyal support when other companies have been pinching my designs and work (they know who they are) for you to stay loyal to the Mini Pirate brand - THANK YOU ALL

I will shortly be taking our on-line shop down as we need to (stupidly) stop new orders coming in as we wont be in a position to honour these requests.

All those customers whom have placed an order recently will receive their order - most have been shipped already and those customers whom have sent us an email or PM I will contact you in the next few days.

We also have a few items in the studio which I will post a listing - all at a greatly reduced price.

I will still hope to become a 'normal' punter so I'm not disappearing totally and so will be on hand to answer any technical questions regarding decals.

It just leaves me to thank you all again for all the support and friends we have made along the way.

With very best wishes,
Phil & the Mini Pirate Team.

That's a very sad piece of news. Never used Phil for any big jobs, but the couple of things he did do for me were top notch.

Rubbish, that is a great shame... I have never been a Mini Pirate customer but know that if I needed anything creating that he's the man to go to as his work is first class. Sorry to hear this.

Totally gutted for Phil, as said already, he's a really nice genuine fella who does exceptional work. I was only up there last monday week & he did his usual superb fitting job (will post a couple of piccies later) on my car, I kind of got an idea that something wasn't right but even with all that on his mind it didn't stop him giving his usual great service.

A true enthusiast, Mini Pirate will be missed.

So much for the banks/government supporting small businesses through these bad times

Good news

MINI PIRATE BOARDED! ANCHORS UP!

NEW INVESTORS SHOW FAITH IN THE VISION

Thanks to substantial investment in the company by two established members of the on-line MINI community, I am pleased to confirm that Mini Pirate now has a secure long-term future and is ready to move onto the next phase of its development and expansion plans.

A quick talk with the man who ‘is’ Mini Pirate, Phil Craddock:

“The level of support shown by all of the MINI communities has been overwhelming and I’d like to say a big thank you for all of the kind words and messages,”

“It is because of the publicity surrounding our problems that two long established members of the MINI community approached me and asked about investing in Mini Pirate. Despite interest shown from other companies in buying out the Mini Pirate brand, I have always wanted to keep it as part of the MINI scene rather than just ‘another’ company.

As a result, when the opportunity arose to expand the company with help from within the community it was the only choice to be made.”

What differences will this make to Mini Pirate?

"The new people bring additional skills to the company from sales, marketing and finance perspectives."

"The main difference this will make is that I can focus on the design, production and installation side of things, while the sales and administration can be dealt with by other members of the Mini Pirate team.

What does this mean for Mini Pirate products; any substantial changes there?

“We’re looking to substantially increase the range of product types available whilst keeping the personal touch and attention to detail that Mini Pirate has become famous for,”

“It’s important to me that the only thing that changes is the quantity of business, not the quality.”

So, what can we expect from Mini Pirate in the future?

“With the extra help I’m getting Mini Pirate can make sure we keep people up to date with what we’re offering and developing. As soon as the legal side of things is finalised then I’ll be able to talk more about the other people who are becoming members of the Mini Pirate crew. As you can see, they’ve already got me issuing Press Releases rather than just posting on-line!”

Lastly, any final words to the members of the MINI public at large?
“If anyone wants to help spread the word by carrying some Mini Pirate logos, give me a shout!”

In other words, Mini Pirate is well and truly open for business!
