I bought a 4 litre castrol edge oil can put it in my boot and it must of had a dodgy seal as I woke up and it was all gone into my boot carpet drained through into my battery well
after a lot of soaking up I sorted out the battery and reattached but the carpet has started to disengrate so wondering as I am currently building a boot install shall I just ditch the carpet anyway? Wat do you think? |

Oh no gutted! I would sort out a new carpet if I were you, no chance of shifting oil.

Yeh but it was brand new!
So shud I get new boot carpet or just rip it out as makin boot build anyway? |

Get a 2nd hand one from 1320's - will make for a nicer install and if you want to cut it up a bit then you wont feel so bad as you will be doing to the a 2nd carpet and not a brand new one from BMW...

I would remove everything and soak up as much oil as poss then get some degreaser or strong APC (all purpose cleaner)4:1 mix that should get things cleaned up nice , least your boot won't rust lol

Cheers guys think I just gonna dispose of boot carpet and have a strip out and wipe round of anything that is left in the boot and then put my bmw sound deadenin I got wen I worked there all over the boot to tidy it up and then build straight onto that as I am making a fake floor for the bootbuil and have like 6 meters of black backed carpet I got by mistake ontop of my unbacked carpet I already had
