Question Starting Problem

I have a 02 Mini Cooper which developed an intermittent starting problem recently, the starter would just "click", no lights would dim & radio worked fine, car would bump start with a push no problem... so I replaced the starter motor & all seemed fine but 2 days later the same "click" appeared again & no start. I connected jump leads up to see if that worked & couldn't believe it when it started, I thought I'd just blown £120 on a new starter for nothing. SO.... I replaced the battery & all worked fine for 1 day then "CLICK"! 2 days later the gearbox blew a hole in the side so I replaced the box & still won't start. Any ideas as I now just want to sell the car?
All replies will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Danny.
