Default 1. defect after 700 rounds on the Nordschleife

Sometime something had to give really once and Whitsun was it then so far, because the clutch thrust bearing disassembled itself into his components.

The Mini was brought from the Nürburgring to my home town by the friendly ADAC free of charge and it came off directly onto the lifting platform.

After short consideration there was for me only a solution.

Build out the Engine from that!

Saidly done and after 3 hours the engine stood before the Mini.

An original clutch set was bought from a friendly BMW dealer, mounts and after further 5 hours the engine was fit in again

Onto the next 700 rounds...

Regards

Rainer

Were you not tempted to fit some uprated parts while you were in there ? Having said that, the abuse the stock parts have taken isnt bad...

I had considered shortly incorporating a Valeo clutch Kit.

But I had no problems with the originally BMW clutch and it works for 15.000 km on the Ring without any problems.

The clutch plate and the two mass flywheel were not damaged or worn-out.

Only the clutch thrust bearing gets overheated and attacked the contact surface of the automat.

The price for the original BMW clutch set was only 135 Euros including VAT and my working time was free of charge...

VALEO clutch Kit with one mass flywheel:
