Default Heavy Steering - Causes

Hi all, posted this on MT but would appreciate any thoughts from people on here...

Fitted a set of KW springs late last year, running on standard shocks etc. I've not had the wheel alignment done since being lowered. The issue is that the steering seems incredibly heavy, it was fine before, but it's a real struggle and doesn't feel like the power assist is doing much.

My thoughts are that, as the car is rather skitish on the road, the alignment is out and consequently affecting the steering. Would that be a fair assumption? Could it be anything else?

Thanks for any help.

Sure it's not just being used to the light and disconnected steering of your Audi?

Possibly, the MINI has always been heavier than the Audi but, it does feel heavier than normal - thought so when I picked it up so had a god comparison within 24hrs.

Have you checked your tyre pressure since pulling her out of storage? Sometimes it's just the simplest things
