Hi Jay, I have an R53 and have just fitted a Kenwood BT50u which is Bluetooth and USB and works great with my iPhone 4. There was no issues really fitting it, I got the wiring adapter and facia off eBay for around £14 and that was it...sorted and working a treat..

Do you have either a multi-function steering wheel or Harmon Kardon stereo? Adapters are available for both, the first one is not so important as if you don't buy the adapter it just means that you can't control anything through the steering wheel. Fitted an Alpine h/u in my old Cooper and everything worked fine.
