Default Tyres ~ R50 Cooper

My sister needs new front tyres on her 2001 Cooper. She's currently running Goodyear NCT-5's but after checking Black Circle's, they're £137 each! That compares to the £123 for mine, and her's are smaller wheels!

Have Goodyear made these tyres obsolete? Are there any other tyre recommendations?

The size is 195/55 R16.

It might not be to everyones taste but I bought two Good Year Run Flats for the Cooper before we sold her which were part worns. 7mm of tread, no punctures, £25 a corner. Will consider doing this again as they were like new.

Can give you the number of a guy in Swaffham who helped me out if that's any help.

Take a look at camskill.co.uk. Very well priced tyres from them.

Yes, I'm running Avons at the front. They are good wet and dry... I'll be getting another pair in Jan for the rear...

I tend to use the normal black round ones and not run-flats!

That's what I am thinking, ditching the run flats.

Really not sure as I don't fancy Lisa dealing with a puncture on the side of the road!
