Default Brake pad help

I was going threw the dartford tunnel last night so there was some excessive braking in the tunnel and the last time I braked the warning light came on letting me know I have no pads left and I'm not going to let BMW mug me off replacing them cause a mechanic friend is going to do them
But i don't know what pads to get as I know there is a wide choice also will the light automatically turn itself of once I have replaced them

Hi Sleety,

You have a few options, I am running Mintex 1144's which I'm not too impressed with, in fact I'd say the Pagid OEM pads are better. Wouldn't recommend Greenstuff either.

With regards to the warning light, you can either a) replace the sensor and reset the warning (I don't know whether this has to be done on a diagnostics machine, because you can do it through a service menu on the R56), or b) tie up the sensor so they won't need replacing in the future and reset to clear.
