Default Engine Coolant

During our trip to Wales I noticed that my engine fan was running more frequently than usual. This is on short trips and doesn't seem to matter if the air con is on or off.

I checked the engine coolant expansion tank tonight as the car has been sitting and was cool and noticed that the expansion tank is empty!

I am assuming it shouldn't be empty?! Could I have a leak and if so what are the tell tale signs?

I am going to pop to the stealer tomorrow and see if I can get a bottle of coolant. I may try and bat my eyelids at them and see if they can sort it for me!

I did that last time I got something done and the price went up
But I would guess that you have a leak

I'd top it up and keep an eye on it, when was the last time you checked it?

yeh it could be a leak as the plastic header tanks are prone to the seals deteriorating i had to replace mine pretty instantly when i bought mine which annoyed me but its been fine since

keep topping it up with water till you can get one but yeah i would say it has a leak
