Default Brakes for R50 Mini One Seven (Built August 2006)

After suggestions, although not desperately urgent my car is coming up for 30k miles and will probably require new brake pads soon. The discs shouldn't need replacing (fingers crossed) however what pads shall I have fitted?

Should I stick to the OEM ATE Pads (They stop, they last well, but lack initial bite) or go for after market such as EBC Green Stuff or similar? Would I need to go for new discs as well or do the after market pads work with OEM Discs.
