Default r53 cooper s is it tuned??

Hi all new to this site have had my mini bout a month a cooper s 54 plate, but it feels too fast to be standard, i have taken some pics of stuff i think is non standard but i have never been on the mini scene (previously vw audi group) . So i was just asking for advice as i will not get a new supercharger pully if it is already done!

First is this tensioner protecter i believe which is non standard says GP Tuning on it is this know company for minis??

any ideas

secondly the charger pully looks old and oem but im no expert?

third the exhaust looks to have a back box missing as only has one on the ns

also there is two big holes drilled behined the air box on the fire wall??

cheers for your help , i will be tuning it anyway but need to know that im not buying stuff for nothin lol, its a great car and pulls really strong cant keep the wheels from spinning in this weather hahah

chris

what in the plastic bulk-head? and does you super charger sound very load threw almost all of the rev range??
cause if memory serves me right mine got quite about 4-5,000 onwards
if so it could have a jcw or dave.f hybrid airbox the dave.f looks standard

Looking at the pics I'd say that it has an aftermarket pulley on there. The standard pulley doesn't look like that (and doesn't rust)... Also looks like you have the 'Lohen protector' fitted... (stops things going south if the sc belt snaps). The exhaust sounds like what is called a 'one ball' mod... The standad exhaust has one of the silencers removed and and reroute pipe welded in its place...

Sounds like you have a car that has already been fettled performance wise by its previous owner... Where did you get it from? If you don't want to post details, drop me a PM instead... I might be able to find out some of the history...

As Sleety says, it sounds like it has or has had an uprated CAI... If it's two biggish holes I wouldn't mind betting that it had a GT Tuning CAI on it at some point... Either that or a JCW airbox... Does the car have a standard intercooler?

I can't view pictures as work but the original Alta V1 was plain metal and therefore may have rusted, as are a few others on the market...

cheers peeps, i knew something had been done as its so fast , feels 200bhp plus, yes the holes are in the plastic behined box

it has the standard cooler fitted, but a t piece blaked off on the manifold from fpr pipe so must of had a boost gauge fitted at some time lol! standard air box looks un-molested but has a hole anyway into the firewall with a rubber seal. The charger really whines all the time when you rev up anything above 2000rpm and you can hear it

might cancel the pulley from mini sport then ha!

also is there anyway of telling if its got a limited slip diff seems to pull me into groves in the road and uneaven surfraces and if i really boot it the traction control light sticks on untill i cycle the ignition the switch wont turn it off sometimes only when you really hammer it though!

Although you won't find the parts you have on your MINI here (click me), it'll be a very useful site for you to compare what you have on your car with original parts.

Hope your enjoying that extra speed

I've run a test on Manifold pressure on my car... 3rd 4th gear fairly smooth acceleration 24-26 psi... In fifth hard acceleration 28-29 psi... I do have numerous mods though...
