Default USA supercharger better than UK supercharger

I am told with a reasonable amount of clarity and not airheadedness that the USA supercharger gives a greater boost than the UK one - is this true and can you tell me why?

Where did you hear that? All the cars are made in the UK so the USA SC's are the same as the UK items. Will be interesting to see any evidence of this...

Could it be the boost pressures they run or an ECM thing due to fuel octanes available in the US

There are two different types of Supercharger. The earlier chargers on the prefacelift cars just had grey blades where the later facelift versions had the teflon blades. If you have an older charger the newer teflon ones can be picked up off of ebay.

Thanks for this SEF, I am asking because I run an R53 in the MINI Challenge and I am looking for any advantage that can possibly be found within the rules - If TEFLON is better and I cannot imagine the factory would do it if they were not then I need to be getting myself a set of these.

The Teflon coated chargers are better... It's a small benefit, but in racing small benefits can make a huge difference... They last longer too... I believe the latest are the fifth generation ones...

have now heard from some serious authority on the subject and the 5th gen are the ones to have - small benefit as suggested but it all counts!
Thanks everyone for their input - there maybe more questions asked as I get the thing built and rebuilt
