Default Window not opening!

Window not opening!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hiya, my 2004 MINI has a little problem. Her drivers side window won't open. I reset the windows by pushing up the toggle switch for a few seconds but no luck. There is no noise ether to indicate I have pushed the toggle switch. It also won't pop up and down again when shutting the door. Drivers side window is fine.

Could it be the fuse gone? I have located the fuses for it, how do you get them out?

I hardly ever open the windows, but I do need to open the door, anyone got a fix for this problem?

I know that Sef on here had a problem with his window on the day we left for Alsace, the cure I believe was to give the door panel a sharp bang near the speaker grill.

This gem was obtained from one of the other forums and worked a treat.

It could be a fuse and you should have a pair of tweezers in the fuse box that you use to take the fuses out. The fuse box is located inside the car and the drivers side window looks like Fuse number 19 and is a 30 amp fuse (the passenger window is fuse number 1 and is also a 30 amp fuse).

Well it's either the motor or the power supply to the motor via the switch, or the earth supply. It may be auto electrician time unless you have a friendly car nut near you who can have a look!
