Right, sorry to ask again folks but yet again i need some help with this car of mine lol.

Firstly it seems to be using oil and water. Whenever i go to start the car the water is either on minimum or slightly under. When the engines been run it rises up to half way between minimum and maximum??
Now ive looked countless times and can never see a leak or any sort or any water dripping down anywhere etc.

The oil seems to go from half way between minimum and maximum to on the min line in about a month. Which is concerning me.
Again there isnt any leaks etc.

The car doesnt smoke and seems to run / pull fine and as normal. The oil colour is fine and not white and frothy.

Also ive noticed between 40-50mph theres a noise which sounds like a "flapping" noise but it only happens between these speeds. It doesnt spund like its comming from the engine as on standstill i can rev the car and there isnt any knocking noises or any other strange noises of any kind.

Im really at the end of my tethher with this car now as it just seems to be one problem after the other and im absolutly sick of it.

If anyone could shed some light i would be really gratefull.

the flapping noise ive had on all 3 of my mini's ,is it when you give it some welly? this could be crankshaft pulley dampner ,as for the water thing could a air lock in the system this is what i was told at BMW ,dont fret mate these are common probs ive had 3 minis and they havnt been without the odd problem ,as for the oil no idea?

where are you checking your water level? only reason I say this is incase your looking at the water temperature gauge....

If your checking at the coolant header tank then its supposed to be just above the min when cold and as the car heats up it the level will rise - just so long as the level doesnt go down belowthe min...

oil prob is odd - if it is not leaking oil then it seems like it must be burning it, exhaust fumes a different colour?
