Default Which Cooper S Cat back exhuast????

Quick question, but it may open a can of worms as everyone has there own take on things...

My exhaust is on it's last legs, probably got a few more months if I drag it out, but it really needs replacing. In my eyes, replacing it with standard isn't even an option, but I'm not sure which one to go for...

Everyone seems to rave about the Milltek but at £500 i haven't really got the ££'s at the moment.

I've found Play Mini do one for £348, but not sure as I've not heard one

And Janspeed do one for £300 more my budget at the mo. but again, I haven't heard one

I don't want a big boy racer sounding exhaust when I am doing my daily drive, but when I do have some fun, I'd like to have music to my ears. IS the Janspeed okay, or am I better off hanging on and saving my pennies to afford the Milltek?

Like you, I had not heard the Playmini but after taking the plunge I think it was one of the, if not the best decision I've ever made.

It's not too loud but loud enough, it looks good, the power gains are certainly noticable (rolling road tests show a good 10%) - pure and simply it is sweet and I recommend it whole heartedly.

Are you coming to the meet on the 6th, you'd be able to hear it then.

The Borla system is awesome too but I know it is more £££ than the Playmini.

I found this on the web but you have to hear it first hand...

I would check with Tony Franks on the price but the JCM exhaust is about £300 IIRC - looks like the JCW zoorst only without the logo and a bit louder... Its what Im going with next time round as I like the sound the JCW zoorst but I want just that little bit more from it = JCM zoorst

I like the sound of the Borla, as an alternative, but Im not sure how much that is...

Must admit that I think Ive herd more of the Janspeed manifold than I have of their cat back - didnt realise they did one.... lol

I think for something like a Borla you are looking well in excess of £500 if not more like £700 for their race exhaust... It is also quite loud!

Milltek was my original choice but I had heard a lot of problems with the weld going on them.

I ended up getting a JCW exhaust and it's good but I have found it too quite. I have noticed the difference in the exhaust note but I'd prefer something a little more loud!

Considering they're now over 500 smackers new I'd say 300 was a fair price as long as it's all in good nic?

As for me, had a look at the borla's, bit pricey for me at £700+!

The janspeed manifold is quite common place, it was only searching the www that I found they also do a cat back system. Perhaps it's not common knowledge for a reason... But I'd have thought as the manifold so popular the rest of the system would be as well?

Had a listen to some the exhaust on you tube, but you can't really tell through a computer. Maybe the rolling road next at mod n mini week will help?

Tell me more? I missed out on a JCW last week on eBay (sniped at the last second!) Do you have contact info for Tony Franks?
