Default Dirty Paint Work

Can I ask for some advice for our other car..

I have spent the day trying to improve the paint work on my 1998 Mk2 MX-5.

After claying and polishing, the paint is smooth to the touch but it looks very gritty with some strange cloud marks on the rear quarters. I took some photos, can anyone give me some advice on sorting it out or is the only option a respray.

I've looked into a machine polisher but I am not sure it will remove cloud sports or grit affect in the pain.

Looks like it needs a good polish to me Also looks like there is some bird poo etching in the paintwork too - not sure if polishing removes that so will leave it to the experts but if it were my car I would start with a machine polish and see how it goes...

I think a machine polish might be the only answer, even been recommending wet sanding but don't fancy that!

Think a message might be sent..

Hairspray / hairdressers car ? I assumed it was a joke rather than a genuine suggestion....

I could be wrong though...
