I wouldn't be putting Fairy near my car - near my hands perhaps, but not the car!
I'd use something like G101 APC sprayed on and left to dwell. |

what! dont be mental fairy liquid is fine haha how do you think non anal people unlike us clean cars, soap!
also by saying i will put it on my hands and not my car was pretty funny, products dermatologically tested to be safe on skin ar egonig to be far safe enough for metal. the reason washing detergents are not advised for cleaning your car in detailing circles is only because it strips back to beginning so the only reason it is not recommended is the reason you want it for, hence no, nothing wrong with it. detailing world; "It is also a degreaser! this will strip all your wax & hard work back to raw unprotected paint. Not good!! " "Its great to use if you want to safely strip the car down for its yearly/six monthly detail." "Fairy certainly isn't abrasive to any serious level, period, if it was, the intricate design off our plates which have been washed in fairy liquid for over 50 years would have come off Also notice how decades of washing expensive pottery and cuttelry with fairy liquid results in ZERO damage to the intricate finishes, which is far less tough and resilliant to chemicals than automobile paint. The chemistry is different of course, but basically, if it was that bad, it would show up on plates and dishes." "everyone in the real world uses fairy liquid, my dad uses fairy liquid, everyone down my road uses fairy liquid, in general the whole world use fairy liquid, its only ph8 so a slightly alkaline liquid compared to specialist ph nuetral (7) shampoos we use, that is what gives it the stripping degreaser agent that strips previous wax from the car, but my parents and 90% of the world dont wax their cars so its not an issue, its only an issue for us detailers so no...fairy liquid is not harmful to cars it jsut removes previous protectants." there you go fairy liquid y spend money on a product to remove other products? defeats the object for me Last edited by Timmsy1986; 05-08-2010 at 01:13 PM. |

fail alert
dont do it there is a reason why automotive products exsist, please people dont try this(it leaves paint feeling like shizz ,but send in photos just for fun just incase you do want to try it ,apc in a foamer does good to remove wax etc,if you havnt got a foamer borrow one or buy one,or get me and andy to do it ,as for buy a product to remove a product is the right way anything else is lazy and half arsed (dont get me started ) i have a excellent range of products if you need something like a de-greaser or apc im more than happy to knock up a bottle ,sleety pop round and ill give you some PROPER STUFF . my motto: if a jobs worth doing it worth doing well ,but if its not worth doing give it some fairy Last edited by paul martin; 05-08-2010 at 03:52 PM. |

Right ive done some research into this and ............. 100% no dont use it contains salt and other harsh surfactants ,timmsy im not stopping you from using it but i dont think its a good place to preach this especially as you are a keen detailer and this would go against everything we believe in and in this part of the forum we are trying to promote the BEST care for everyones cars not the street or the old boy down the road lol i hope ive not sounded like a moaner and if i have tuff!!!!!! lol
